Serial Parellel
Parellel Port Printer Through Serial Port?
My computer doesn't have a Printer port in the back, but it does have 9 pin serial ports. Can I hook it up to those with an adapter and get it to work? It's a really old printer (1994 HP Laserjet 4L), so I'd imagine that it's lack of "bells and whistles" wouldn't require much in the way of communication between it and the computer. I know that they make USB adapters, but I'm running Linux and have a feeling that they won't work or will a require a lot of research and trial and error to get them to work. I know that I can buy a new USB inkjet really cheap, but I really like this old workhorse of a printer.
lol, USB2.0 ports rulz and well like by everyone around the world.
